Gesture recognition engine environment GREEEN

GREEEN (Gesture REcognition Engine ENvironment) performs 3-D recognition based on depth images and offers new touchless user interface operable by 'gestures' such as hand movements.

It enables to provide products and services
that interact with natural actions of human.

The gesture recognition engine, that is the core of GREEEN, recognizes hand movement and physical posture and notifies arbitrary applications in real-time. Interacting with gestures such as handwaving or sticking out one's hand, the application can provide completely new user interface.

GREEEN uses 3-D image sensors such as TOF (Time-Of-Flight) sensor as input device and performs recognition based on depth images consisting of pixels that holds distance from the object as value. It enables robust performance against disturbance such as unstable ambient light or variations in colors of user's clothes and background.

You can restrict targets of recognition by setting specific space in real-world as 'control space'. GREEEN also prevents false recognition or detection by handling priorities of objects determined from its position or movement history.

GREEEN is a framework composed of highly independent components. You can use it as middleware to operate your existing contents or port core function into embedded platforms.
